Established in 1941, PAL proudly carries the Philippine flag and holds the distinction of being the oldest airline in Asia still operating under its original name. But the roots of this legacy reach back even further. In 1930, visionary entrepreneur Emmanuel N. Bachrach founded the Philippine Aerial Taxi Company (PATCO), pioneering a historic round-trip flight from Manila to Iloilo. Though PATCO’s operations paused for several years, its vision of connecting people through flight lived on. That vision was reborn in 1941 as Philippine Airlines a symbol of national pride, innovation, and determination that continues to inspire aviators across the globe.
